I have a memory that when the PO first appeared in ANBG there was a similar outbreak of reports of the species in various suburbs (Campbell, Pialligo spring to mind) in the previous few months.

A couple of months ago some friends told me that they had had a Powerful Owl in their neighbourhood of western Cook. They didn’t realise the significance of the species and hadn’t thought to tell anyone. By the time they mentioned it to me the bird had moved on – possibly to Turner? They did comment that all their possum problems had been solved.

Cheers
