I agree with Philip -a black kite. They are VERY common around Deni, which I visit several times each year. I've seen up to around 50 roosting in the trees close to billabong on edge of town. The forked tail is very distinctive and makes this species very easy to identify. The colouring of black kites is very variable, although invariably not black. Sandra h
