The survey was undertaken on Sept 18th. There were no surprises, but good numbers of most of the expected birds. A Nankeen Kestrel was seen flying straight into a hollow, so that appears as a breeding record, while the Striated Pardalotes seen nest building recently in same tiny hole as last year were not in evidence, so may be sitting on eggs. Many parrots were still investigating hollows around the reserve. Surprisingly, no Dusky woodswallows were seen during the survey, but a subsequent visit to the adjoining farm revealed   a number around the homestead, so perhaps they are nesting over there this year. White-throated Gerygones were heard at most survey sites,  and there was a pair in an area where they were observed nesting last year. The Scarlet and Flame Robins evident during winter have all departed the reserve.
