Mt Majura Woodland surveys were conducted over a number of days. Numbers of species were good with around 30 species sighted in total across all sites. Our top highlight was a Tawny Frogmouth, a first since we have been surveying. We searched pretty hard for its mate or possibly a nest site, but didn’t find anything. Other highlights included Oriole, 2 Wedge-tailed Eagles, a couple of Speckled Warblers (although only at one site), Brown, Yellow Rumped and Buff Rumped Thornbills, Superb Fairy Wrens, Mistletoe Bird, Golden Whistler and Bronzewing.

A Shining Bronze Cuckoo was heard outside one site. Breeding activity included 2 Kookaburras inspecting a hollow and a Galah in a nest box near the tank in Hackett.
