The original message has three images, and is too large for the mailing list, so I have split it into three with one image in each...

Subject: [FSCB] Noisy Pitta near Bermagui

Myself, Andrew Morrison and Harrison Warne set off this morning at 5.45am in search of a Noisy pitta which had been photographed on Saturday morning near Bermagui.

Armed with our cameras and our impatience we thought we had no chance finding this rainforest species normally found north of Sydney. Within two minutes of our arrival, we could hear the distinct hopping and scuffling in the leaf litter of Noisy Pitta! But we caught only glimpses in the very low light so We walked away for ten minutes teaming with excitement and the hope that light conditions would improve. Returning, the bird couldn't be located but after only a few minutes, a call was heard from the dense pittosporum re growth (another nightmare for photographers with very poor light). On my hands and knees, I crawled in, hoping it was too cold for any ticks to be active. Immediately, the bird was within 15 metres of us! And stood still long enough for some photos!

Cheers,
