Interesting Chris, I live at the other end of this suburb in NW Chapman,
but haven’t seen a Rainbow Lorikeet either in my GBS or my local patch of NW
Cooleman Ridge/S end of Narrabundah Hill in over 2 years.
It just goes to show how local birds can be, though everyone else seems to
be reporting increased numbers.
July has seen, however, a bit of bird movement compared with May/June, with
a couple of species recorded not seen for over two years, including Little Pied
Cormorant, Fuscous Honeyeater (one calling in my neighbours tree for much of
this morning) and Peregrine Falcon over my GBS late today. Who knows, the
rainbows might be next!
