I am going to set up a camp down there………such an eye Duncan

but did witness a pair of kookaburras at the weir yesterday and today and a pair of black shouldered kites hovering south of the weir yesterday. There seems to be a lot going on…on .

Friday morning the Duskies came back they were feeding on a weed which I can’t identify but is common in the area. There must have been 23 -25 huddled together on the wire as if having a meeting, they haven’t been back.

When you have finished kicking yourself, please sink the wellie in to me for walking past the area yesterday and seeing a Whiteish-necked Heron not what may be the first Bittern in the ACT

I have just had an excellent view of an Australasian Bittern in Ginninderra Creek, Giralang. I am kicking myself for not having my camera on me, and the bird was not visible when I came back with it.

It was in the reeds, down stream of Giralang Pond. I'll be a keeping a very close eye on the area, with camera in hand.

Duncan.
