Last Tuesday morning, Jun 3, there were at least 30 & possibly as many
as 50 YTBCs in trees near Government House. They were extremely noisy &
active, thus hard to count. Some of the sounds indicated feeding dependent
young.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos over W.
Belconnen
At 09:30 today
while watching Sulphur-crested Cockatoos gorging on our White Cedar berries –
they must have the digestion of a land-fill billy goat – I saw a sizeable flock
of Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos approaching from the south before flying east
then west towards me and finally swinging through 180 degrees again to settle on
an easterly bearing. Anyhow, all this ambivalence allowed me to form a
reasonable estimate of numbers, I’ll bet 25.
