A thought, possibly relevant to Holt, about habitat
preferences for Rats With Wings (aka Common Myna).
In the Greater Carwoola Area we are rarely blessed with
these emblems of habitat modification. When they do raise
their beautiful heads (for those of a literal frame of mind,
that is irony) it is often in association with domestic horses
(ie not commercial horse studs etc).
This led me to recall a comment from (I think) Bob Rusk to
the effect that Mynas will never be eradicated from the
Canberra area as long as nothing is done about the horde
infesting the Queanbeyan Race track. That was on the money,
and I think the same applies to whatever the place near
Kamberra Wines is called now.
Now Holt isn't very far from Pegasus. Has anyone
investigated the Myna situation there?.
