A thought, possibly relevant to Holt, about habitat preferences for Rats With Wings (aka Common Myna). In the Greater Carwoola Area we are rarely blessed with these emblems of habitat modification. When they do raise their beautiful heads (for those of a literal frame of mind, that is irony) it is often in association with domestic horses (ie not commercial horse studs etc).
This led me to recall a comment from (I think) Bob Rusk to the effect that Mynas will never be eradicated from the Canberra area as long as nothing is done about the horde infesting the Queanbeyan Race track. That was on the money, and I think the same applies to whatever the place near Kamberra Wines is called now.
