I have mentioned in the past an excellent area of Snow Gum - Brittle Gum Woodland on private property beside Pollock Rd on the Hoskinstown Plain.  We visited the area again this morning and recorded 25 species.  Highlights were
  • at least 6 Diamond Firetails;
  • at least 10 White-browed Woodswallows with at least one bird sitting on a nest; and
  • a family of White-winged Trillers.
Two juvenile Wedge-tailed eagles flew over and were given a warm reception by the Woodswallows so I suspect there were other nests as well. Some images and a full list are at http://carwoolabirds.blogspot.com.au/2013/12/birds-off-pollock-rd.html
