Then came the remarkable chatline report about the Purple-crowned.  These had been found in exactly the same clump of trees where the Swifties first turned up a few years ago. Happily Milburn and Frank were in position ,fully in command of the lorikeet situation.  The little chaps left temporarily, but a Musk Lorikeet was in the very tree, along with Superbs.  The latter would have been a notable sighting a few years ago, but are now in the ho-hum category.  They were feeding on blossoms, and, unlike the ‘keets, on buds and lerps as well. There were 2 Musk.  Capturing the famous lorikeet tongue was something of a challenge (see arrow).
