Thanks Geoffrey.
Enjoyed the morning too.
I was only joking of course about adding the cuckoo to my blitz reports but it’s sort of annoying  isn’t it to see such an interesting bird just after the blitz. For that matter we saw the Friar birds this morning and the possibly nesting King Parrots as well and  didn’t see them over the weekend either. But I will put in a report for today with today’s date on it just to get a record  of the cuckoo.
Sorry we didn’t see the Azure Kingfisher or the Blue winged Parrots - but that’s the frustration and the joy of birdwatching is it not?
Cheers

An interesting morning around Percival Hill, thanks John.  You’re lucky to have such a nice patch of woodland so close, not to mention the waterbird corridor.  By coincidence the 2 birds we discussed were caught with bills open  -  but for different reasons:  the Shining Bronze was gulping a tiny caterpillar (below).  I think you are wise, given your position in the community, not to include the cuckoo on your week-end blitz sheets.    g

I’d enjoy meeting you if you like. Could show you some good spots. I should be home Wednesday and Thursday. Not sure about Friday
