When I downloaded that image I could see two flocks of whitish birds but even with my crummy eyesight this lot didn't look too much like Avocets  (of any species).

Then I zoomed out and realised this flock didn't have the benefit of a celestial green arrow.

And so to Werribee.  You will see below a view of the familiar You Yangs
taken last Friday -  but from the WTP side of the road.  Indicated by the
green arrows are 2 groups of smaller whitish birds, mainly avocets.  If you
like, you can have a guess at how many there are.  In the next posting we
shall take a closer look.
