I'm located in Holder and this morning we had mother and daughter from an
adjacent street (50 away metres as the crow[or Cockatiel} flies) looking for
their escaped pet cockatiel. They had found the escapee in a black sallee
on our nature strip. Despite all enticements the bird had not come down
from the tree as we departed for a paddle on the Lake. I heard it calling
at approx 5pm this evening, presumably still on the loose.
The lake paddle produced the usual array of Cormorants and Darters, but also a pair of White-winged Trillers on one of the rocky islets near the Carillon, also a pair of Black-faced Cuckoo-shrikes. Cheers Rod |
