A frequent occurrence. For what it is worth, when I walked to my polling
place on 7 September, I saw presumably the same (normal coloured) male
Cockatiel in exactly the same place behind the school on Boddington Circ
Kambah, as mentioned by me and I think Michael Robbins several months ago,
when we both saw Peaceful Doves there. The GBS Report mentions that these
birds have a tendency to stay around for some extended time, probably longer
than most other escaped parrots (though maybe not white ones). Not that
surprising really as their natural range is not that far away.

While out in the yard yesterday afternoon in Forde I heard an unusual call.
Looking up I saw an overall whitish bird with longish tail. It circled
around for some time calling as if not sure which way to head. It reminded
me of a cockatiel. It was definitely a parrot of sorts.
The closest I can think of is a whiteface Cockatiel, most likely an escapee.
Cheers
Marnix
