Hi Philip I actually have seen Peregrine Falcons from that angle - below me and flying towards me - while doing some rock climbing. LBB and LYB are little brown birds and little yellow birds. They usually move between you and the sun so you mainly see the silhouette - if at all, or on the
other side of the trunk of the tree they are are on and never sit still enough to make out useful features other than the main colour. I swear they do that on purpose. that is hard to imagine it is a bird flying towards you. I wonder if it is a
LBB or LYB, then again
I don't know as I wonder what is a LBB or LYB.......... I suspect it is a little eagle. Because the
beak suggests a raptor and the wing shape & short square tail fit little eagle best, of the
local species.

It's
a bit like those "train your brain" pictures: is the bird flying towards you or
away from you? Can you turn your perception back and forth?
I
would hazard to say it's NOT a LBB or LYB on account of relative body size to
wingspan.
Other
than that I am at a loss. Could be a seagull or even a kite or little
eagle.
Squarish
tail
Wings
fairly horizontal (not v-shape)
Wing
tips pointy
Beak
slightly hooked (?)
Because
of the focal length it's hard to really estimate body size, relative beak size
and shape, relative tail length
That's what I would look at as a fairly
untrained birdwatcher.
Looking forward to getting to read more
"tricks of the trade".
