Good Harv. There were certainly more waders about at 0730. The Wood Sandpiper drew my attention by the constant nervous bobbing of the tail. I first thought Common, then Marsh and it took me a while to work it out. When it flies it has a slower wingbeat than the sharpies and the legs trail fairly obviously
For the record here are 2 stints, with friend –

The Wood Sandpiper drew me out to Fyshwick at lunch time; took about 30 minutes to locate and I, Roger W, Alastair S and Milburn got good views of it. It tends to be by itself rather than with the sharpies (of which I saw only 5); and I only located 1 Red-necked Stint.

Yes, I’d say so - here’s some more ..
Geoff – that’s starting to look more like a Wood Sandpiper (although the front-on angle makes it difficult to see the wing patterning, and the bill looks fairly long).

No takers?? Here is the same shot with the 4th bird enlarged and edited up –
Yes - a closer look today showed about a dozen sharpies and 2 stints - and can you identify the 4 birds in this cropped but unedited snap ….
One Red-necked Stint seen at Fyshwick Sewage Ponds this afternoon along with 8 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers.
