Chris, there are 5 very healthy planted ironbarks (street trees or in
gardens) in my GBS site but none seem to be even in bud let alone in flower this
year, unlike the leucoxylons in our garden which started flowering a couple of
weeks ago, but not as profusely as in some years.
But there again I’ve never seen a Superb Parrot anywhere near our
area.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Flowering Ironbarks
Hi,
I note that at present there is a good flowering event from
the Red Ironbarks E
sideroxylon
which are being fed on by the Superb Parrots in the area. Can anyone tell
me if the flowering has just started or if this species has been flowering all
winter. Interestingly I was out at Jindalee NP yesterday and the Ironbarks
were not on flower there.
