It is no stopping – erected to stop people parking on the roadside to look at the new Cotter Dam under construction. There was initially going to be a viewing area along this section but then it was consider
it would create a traffic hazard so ‘no stopping’ signs put up and people directed to the Cotter Ave viewing area.

Could also be No Smoking as this sign is on the Gunghalin Expressway in the bushland area.

I had a delightful morning being shown around Uriarra Village by Jude Hopwood today. On my way there and back, in the vicinity of the new dam, only visible after the fog lifted, I was puzzled by a road sign that was a big S in a circle
with a red line across it. I have been unable to find an explanation on the internet, and indeed, the attached was the only similar image I could find, although it tells you you are ending the whateveritis zone. Haven’t the faintest idea what road rule I
might have been breaking. Does anyone else know?
