Red-kneed Dotterels "paddling for food"?

As the COG line has been full of reports of this species recently, I submit a video from Duncan Fraser in Gippsland, a well respected birder and naturalist.

His brief video clearly shows the bird "paddling the mud", one foot at  a time, then striking for an insect or other invertebrate.
Has this behaviour been in evidence at Kelly's Swamp, where, by reports the levels are low, favouring mud paddling, and visibility?
