He came in completely paralysed on 3 January – he now is standing and getting the use of wings back so this one is doing well and will probably be right for release in another week

What is the survival rate these days for affected birds taken into care?

Just to let you all know we currently have a Silver Gull in care at RSPCA from the Lake with suspected botulism so please keep a look out for any paralysed birds in the area – so yes an outbreak could be possible
