A striking visual moment was the first sunlight picking out the golden scales of dying beached carp on the far side. I don’t suppose they’ll be much in demand by the live-fish-eaters but no doubt something will eat at least some of them (see later). Right in front of the Bittern hide a great carp thrashed around, reared up and grounded itself on a tussock. The 4 G Egrets were gobsmacked – stopped feeding and just stared transfixed like they thought the natural order of things, where fish generally stay in the water, had been turned upside down.. The egret photos will be a bit ho-hum, but I’ll offer you a rearing carp
