Hello all,

I have a friend who is currently researching morphological adaptations beneficial to feeding in Anhinga species and they are looking for video footage of birds spearing fish underwater. I just thought I would see if anyone here knows of, or has any footage they might be willing to share. Apparently they haven't had much luck looking on the usual websites (Youtube, ibc.lynxeds, EOL etc). Specific details from my friend are below:

I volunteer at the Smithsonian Institution (specifically, the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.). The project I'm working on currently involves me explaining the mechanics of this behavior (spearing fish underwater) to an animator, who will later be producing animations for an exhibit at the museum. I don't think we're planning on using any of the actual video in the exhibit (unless our plans change), so your contacts shouldn't be concerned about licensing agreements or the like.

Any thoughts?

Erika
