A morning ride around the waterways of Forde was fairly productive this morning.
• Fairy Martins - along Ginninderra Ck and Forde Pond.
• Spotted Crakes - single birds at two sites: one foraging on mudflat at NW end
of small pond between Neil Harris Cres and Horse Park Dr. Confiding and easily
seen without binos from footpath. Other along E muddy edge of main Forde pond
among sedge/grass. Once again seen from bike path.
• Latham's Snipe - single bird at main wetland by Horse Park Dr.
• Royal Spoonbill - 4 birds roosting at main wetland along Horse Park Dr.
Not a bad start to the new year.
