Greetings Roger
I saw this bird yesterday and after some careful observation
concluded that it was a Fan-tailed Cuckoo. The obvious golden eye
ring and rufous outer fringes in the tail feathers (not evident in
this image) preclude all other possibilities. The worn plumage
indicates that it is not really a juvenile but rather
pre-pubescent. I suggest that it will moult fairly soon into a
more observer-friendly plumage.
regards
Milburn

This young Cuckoo was spotted out side the Bittern hide
by a fellow bird watcher this afternoon, I'm undecided
wether its a Brush, Fantail or Pallid, I lean towards a
juvenile Pallid Cuckoo. Suggestions please.
