Hi All

Just thought I'd let you know that Julian, Meredith and I scared a royal spoonbill while walking past the creek running next to the new walking track at Jerrabomberra Wetlands yesterday morning.  It proceeded to fly to the pond opposite Cygnus Hide, where it decided it was time for a snooze.  Upon returning to the hide, Meredith, wanting to see the spoonbill's bill, watched for some time before the bird decided it would wake up and show its bill, opening it in what can only be described as a yawn.  It then proceeded to stand on one leg, curl up, and go back to sleep.

Matt.
