In front of Ardea hide today, two adult Buff-banded Rail with 5 young. They were heading towards Bittern Hide (photo taken from there) until they were disturbed by work on the island in front of it. Last seen and heard in Crake Alley. There are a very small number of breeding records for Buff-banded Rail in the ACT.
