I have been asked to remind subscribers that one of the rules of the
list is that emails sent to it should not exceed 100 kB in size. The
reason for this rule is that some people are (apparently) still on
dial-up internet access and others have very limited and/or
expensive download allowances - this includes people accessing the
list via smartphones, iPads, etc.
An email sent to the list a few days ago included a photo 1 MB in
size, and three other subscribers have re-sent the same photo to the
list.
You can reduce the size of your photos using virtually any image
management software (IrfanView is a good, free one), or using one of
the online image resizers such as shrinkpictures.com .
