I know Tumut is outside COG’s area of interest but members heading out
Wagga way might find it useful to detour through Tumut. The wetlands are
at the corner of the road in from Gundagai and the Snowy Hwy. There is a
well sign-posted network of walking tracks.
I recorded nearly 40 species in a one hour walk yesterday afternoon
including Sacred Kingfisher, dollar birds, White Necked Heron, Fan-tailed
Cuckoo, Little Pied, Little Black and Great cormorants, Reed Warblers and
Rufous Whistler. Several more LBBs escaped identification.
