I was very interested in hearing about the nesting o RRP under C'wealth Ave
Bridge. Has anyone else ever seen these birds nesting in such a different,
from a hole in a tree, place? We have seen two pairs at Callum Brae that
looked as if they had chosen a nesting spot. Next time we went they had
disappeared.
Yesterday, at Callum Nrae we saw a pair of weebills just starting to build a
nest.
Also outside Callum Brae, entrance Narrabundah Lane, there are 3 large pipes
going under the road. On the farmer's side of the road, striated pardalotes
were entering a hole in the concrete, above a pipe. There were no striated
pardalotes in the gully where we saw a snake last week. We saw one spotted
pardalote.
Also kestrels are not nesting in either of the nests that they used last year.
Has anyone seen them in different nests? SCC seem to have taken over the
broken dead branch nest near the gully
