No, Denis, we did not see any orchids at Holy Camp.  I was not especially 
looking for them, but usually see them if they are there.

But the other thing that we saw, that we found rather exciting, was the nest of 
a pair of Chestnut-rumped Thornbills.  The nest was in the bark of an ironbark, 
tucked in very firmly, a vertical nest, possibly 20cm in height and 10cms 
across, with a hole in the middle.  It was made of bark and grasses.  But from 
what we could see of the inside, that was lined with softer material, feathers. 
 Although the two birds that were coming and going were undoubtedly thornbills, 
we did not know which thornbill they were.  Thornbills just do not make a nest 
like that.  It was only when we looked up the pictures of nests in Morcombe 
that we realised what these little birds were.  We watched them for about 20 
minutes.  At times one would stay sitting on the nest, facing out.  At other 
times the two would play around with each other and sometimes, both would 
disappear for several minutes.  It was a great display
