About 15 years ago it was an open lagoon with clumps of reeds and really good for waterbirds. If you were lucky you could see Australian Bittern, Swamp Harrier &c Then the reeds grew too thick to see anything and it dried out. Sounds as if it might be coming good again. Only hope the good stuff found a refuge in the meantime and can recolonise.
