The Vets Athletics had their annual Handicap Race at Stromlo Forest Park this morning. Neither Terry Munro nor myself were able to spot any White-fronted Chats. Have they really vanished or did the pressure of competition cause us to miss them? There were a lot (at least 10) of Magpie-larks patrolling the manicured sward of the start/finish area.
After sending my message about Lake Rd yesterday I realised that I had omitted to mention one of the more interesting sightings: 6 Yellow Thornbills checking out the wildlife in the foliage of an Acacia mearnsii.
