Also my first GBB record in forty years at (upper) Holder - like you Ian I
didn't catch a glimpse but it was very vocal in a neighbour's dense pinoak.
(mind you 40 yrs ago I didn't know what a GBB looked like let alone sounded
like, so perhaps there have been others). Also another (surely not the same
bird) heard calling in Ainslie today.
