The Holder Koel has been around for a few days now. I heard it just off Blackwood Terrace not far from the shops yesterday.

Subject: [canberrabirds] More Koel news from Weston Creek

The Koel which has been calling near my Weston garden since last week is still around regularly and I often hear it in the morning both before dawn and into mid morning.  Yesterday, I saw the bird calling from a large cedar tree on the corner of Hindmarsh Drive and Larakia St on the edge of Waramanga, following a tip off from another chat line member who saw the bird in a street tree in Larakia St.  It might be worth while driving down Larakia st with your car windows down in the morning, as I did to locate the bird.  I believe a Koel has been calling in Duffy and Chapman in Weston Creek - hard to know if its the same bird or more than 1.

cheers

Jenny
