Hello subscribers,
Unfortunately my updated ad for the above didn’t get into the November
Gang-gang, but I want to bring to your attention an important change.
As I’ve had some enquiries if it’s possible just to come down for the
Sunday morning, I’m trying to arrange this possibility – see attached ad.
So if you were keen to come or just contemplating it but couldn’t come on
the Saturday, or don’t like camping overnight, please get in contact with me as
hopefully we’ll be able to make it happen. I’d particularly be interested
if you have 4 WD (it’s just the last bit dropping down to the river bank that
may need 4WD if it’s wet).

Saturday -
Sunday 19-20 November - Goulburn area - overnight campout
This trip will be the joint outing for 2011 as part of
our continuing links with the Goulburn Field Naturalists Society (GFNS). We will be travelling to Goulburn early
Saturday afternoon, returning mid Sunday afternoon, camping overnight at
Arthursleigh on the Wollondilly River.
This is a lovely, otherwise hard to get to, river oak-lined stretch of
the river where the GFNS have their bird hide, and where we picked up 44 species
on a morning visit in October 2010.
This will be a bring everything in, take everything out campout. On the way we will stop in Goulburn to
view progress with the proposed wetlands at the old brick pits. As usual we will have a contributed
shared dinner with our hosts on the Saturday evening. To book your place, or for
further information please contact Jack Holland (6288 7840 AH or by E-mail on
The possibility of members joining in just for the Sunday
morning has also been raised, and it is likely that some GFNS members will be
doing the same. Please note,
however, it will require an early start, meeting at 7:30 or 8 am in Goulburn, as
it takes about 1 hour to get to the campsite from there.
