Sorry to be unclear. I was actually referring to the shift between
earlier observations, which have been recording roughly equal
numbers of males and females, and the observations by myself and
Duncan, both of which, as you point out, show roughly the same
ratio. I'm sure the possible significance of the missing females
is not lost on you.

gender balance. I was watching a much smaller group on
Tuesday morning in the same area, consisting of 6 males and 2
females.
