Howdy All,
This afternoon while I was at work in the nursery at Bunnings,
Belconnen, a flock of approximately 20 Superb parrots flew overhead
and wheeled about a few times. Very distinctive call to
them. Yesterday morning was the first time I had ever seen them here
in Canberra (I know they've been around, but I have never chased them
down for a sighting) when I saw a few as I was turning into the
Bunnings entrance. Todays flock was just so distinctive in flight,
and I stopped everything to watch them for a moment or
two. Thankfully the customers didn't mind, particularly when I
explained what they were and how recent they are to Canberra. <grin>
In more than 18 months of working in the nursery there I haven't seen
them until now, so maybe they're moving around a bit more or I just
happened to be in the right place at the right time. So cool to see them.
Cheers.
