BOCA and Birds Australia put out press releases to this effect (esp.
the  illegal home-made baits being used by farmers). Poisoned rodents
can poison owls/raptors/magpies and similar, and poisoned grain kills
finches, native pigeons etc.  When I was  in Leeton recently there was
also a report in the local paper about large number of pet cats/dogs
which have been poisoned (and in some cases killed) by picking up the
baits.
