A good question, Terry. There is a lot of bait around to try and
control these rodents, and I too have wondered whether a bird eating
them could ingest the toxins.
As it turns out, my 2 year-old grandson found a freshly deceased
mouse on the driveway just this morning - he was visibly saddened,
promptly declaring that it was his favourite mouse. :) Not sure
where it came from, but we buried it in the garden specifically to
avoid it being eaten by any of my tame magpies (having previously
seen them with a dead mouse).
I'd certainly be interested in an informed opinion as to whether
birds could be affected by eating rodents that have ingested poisons.
