We have recently returned from a marvellous bird watching trip in Queensland,
in the Channel Country, from Charleville--Birdsville. We saw many interesting
birds, and bird behaviour. There has been talk on the chat line about barn
owls. We saw one being pursued by a peregrine falcon, at great speed. We
think that it escaped by staying low in the trees. We also found a newly dead,
but apparently uninjured boobook owl. We were able to hold it. It was
beautiful. I wanted to bring it back for Mark, but was told, firmly, that that
was really not possible. We also saw a live bb owl perched in a tree and it
just sat and watched us
We saw a black falcon nest with 2 chicks. I believe that these birds are quite
rare, and I want to send a report on it to Birds Australia. How do I do that?
