If the mid week walks every get so short of places to go that we have visit that establishment - even without the benefit of photoshopping - then it could only mean that the CFMEU have achieved their objective of clear felling, burning or bitumenising the entire COG AOI.  I'd like t say we never go within 5km of the place but unfortunately tht rules out a couple of interesting spots (if don't become too polluted by the escapees).

Yes very clever, well done and certainly different You didn't call it a quiz with a finish date so here goes.........:

A yellow-faced Star Finch head on a Princess Parrot;

A Varied Lorikeet head on a King Quail;

A Bourke's Parrot head on a Black-throated Finch;

The last one is harder, probably a Tri-coloured Mannikin head on a Turquoise / Scarlet-chested Parrot hybrid.

With the  frequent references to the walk-in aviary exhibit at ‘Gold Creek, I paid it a visit yesterday.  Perhaps something of more interest to the aviculturist or small children, but a possible venue for a (short) mid-week walk if that group is running out of new ideas.  I was told that parrots do escape from time to time through holes chewed in the netting as these are not always immediately picked up.  Most escapers are fairly tame and easily caught.  I was struck by the large variety of aberrant plumages and hybrids.  The following is a sample of the more unusual ones that I noticed.
