With the  frequent references to the walk-in aviary exhibit at ‘Gold Creek, I paid it a visit yesterday.  Perhaps something of more interest to the aviculturist or small children, but a possible venue for a (short) mid-week walk if that group is running out of new ideas.  I was told that parrots do escape from time to time through holes chewed in the netting as these are not always immediately picked up.  Most escapers are fairly tame and easily caught.  I was struck by the large variety of aberrant plumages and hybrids.  The following is a sample of the more unusual ones that I noticed.
