Just thought I ought mention that the YFHes which have been reported as moving past Canberra are now appearing in Robertson.
Very small numbers at present.
Presumably they have been deterred over last two weeks by nearly constant cloud / drizzle and occasional days of heavy rain.

If any COG members are tempted to check out the known YFHe feeding grounds on the Banksias in the Budawangs, a warning on the Budawang Plateau roads.
For anyone attempting to gain entry to the Plateau from the coast side, 12 Mile Road (goes west from the Pacific Highway - turn-off north from the Bendalong Road) was impassable two weeks ago, and there has been more rain since.
NPWS advised that the Little Forest Road (which comes up from Ulladulla) is closed (possibly for burn-off activities, though that is a guess).
The more northerly roads in from the Braidwood - Nowra road (neat Tianjara Falls) are said to be open. I have not attempted to enter from that side (yet).

Check with NPWS at Nowra (phone call) before you go, is my suggestion.

Cheers

Denis Wilson
