In amongst all this comment about Koels,
I'll mention that in my new role at an office, nicely hidden in the Ellis
Rowan building next to Hudson's cafe, at ANBG (could hardly have a nicer
Canberra work venue), I noted a Fan-tailed Cuckoo calling through the day. I had
not noticed this in the prior 3 weeks there. The GBS results show an interesting
slight increase in the species abundance during March, presumably as they move
back out and through the suburbs. Or is it that they start calling again a bit
more in March? I don't know.
