for letting us know the story and your efforts for the bird and pity about that
but it is not really unexpected. About Michael's suggestion, I wondered whether
RSPCA would have the facilities or thoughts to offer a potentially important
specimen to ANWC at CSIRO. Maybe Mark Clayton could advise on this. Probably
such repository is as useful as a photograph. Local breeding of the species is
still a novelty and of interest.

Many thanks to all the replies on our injured
Koel. We followed the majority advice and took it into the RSPCA at
Weston. They were great but unfortunately,
the bird died soon after.
I didn't take a photo, which I kicked myself for
(gently) afterwards.
