I guess I echo Philip Veerman’s sentiments, when he writes:

“... so is the Crested Pigeon increasing and so it is hard to show an actual problem - are the STD impacting on anything?”

Whenever we find yet another Crested Pigeon’s nest and I watch their burgeoning numbers; I think that one day I’ll hear someone say, “There’re too many Crested Pigeons in Canberra.”   Look, perhaps Spotted Doves are impacting on something but the impact is so subtle initially ( at least) that most people haven’t noticed.  But I suppose if we look for trouble long enough, we’re gonna find it.

P.V. also says, “Even if the STD is increasing and I would rather they not become common here such as how annoyingly prevalent they are in Melbourne for example,...”

So, other than being ‘annoyingly prevalent” what impact is the species having in Melbourne? Or, am I missing something here?
