Striated Pardalotes clear dead chicks out but I'm not sure whether they do
it in preparation for the next clutch or while they are still feeding a
current one. I've had 3 or 4 hollow logs fitted under my eaves for about 35
years, most occupied every year many producing two clutches, possibly three,
per season and I've occasionally found dead chicks under them. I'll make a
note next time I find a dead chick under one.
