I did notice when I was at Jerra wetlands last Friday that a lot of the weeds HAVE been removed, thistles sprayed and dead, dead or overgrown stuff cut back a bit and the cuttings stacked, the forest in front of Fulica hide removed so you can once again see the water....  Not all areas (eg, still very weedy towards the covered bridge), but at least some work has been done recently, and I did not see a single rabbit!!  (LOTS of sacred kingfishers - at least six seen, including dependent young, and also dollarbirds, including a juvenile).

Come on, Chris.  Of course it is good to create new wetlands, eg Lyneham and upgrade the dam at Mulligans, but how about looking after the old?  I notice in the email that Beth sent about the outing to Jerrabomberra next Sunday, that it is classified as Important Wetlands in Australia'.  Why is it not better cared for? removal of weeds? care of hides?
